How can I find out if my employer has workers’ comp?
Answer: Every employer that participates in the Texas Workers’ Compensation program is required to post a notice in an area frequently visited by employees to provide information about whether the employer is a participant, and if so, the name and phone number of the workers’ comp insurance carrier.
If you don’t see the workplace notice, you may ask your human resources department whether your employer is a subscriber to the program.
Lastly, you can call the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation and ask whether or not your employer is covered by workers’ compensation insurance.
