The Recognized Leader in Self-Insured Trusts

For more than a decade, New York Compensation Managers has provided small- to medium-sized businesses across New York State, comprehensive, cost effective, self-insurance alternatives to traditional workers’ compensation insurance, called Self-Insured Trusts.

In 1995 the founders of NYCM formed The Special Trades Contracting and Construction Trust. With about 750 businesses currently in The Trust it is one of the largest programs in New York State.

It’s an unmatched level of service and support that has set NYCM apart from other workers' compensation administrators. More than 60 people make up a team of highly skilled professionals that help take the work out of workers’ compensation. Inside NYCM you’ll find claims professionals, nurse case managers, safety and loss prevention specialists, underwriters, and information systems specialists, led by a senior management team with industry knowledge and experience that is second to none.

NYCM has quickly established itself as a recognized leader in self-insured trusts and third-party administration among businesses, and the insurance agent community across New York State.

Expanding Our Expertise

NYCM has also launched several associated companies, and services including USA-TPA, providing full-service self-insurance plan management; PayComp Plus, Web-based Payroll and HR Administration Tool; Med NY Case Management, offering nurse case management expertise; and Xclaim Software, delivering a variety of software suites for self-insurance program management.

USA-TPA provides expert claims administration and case management services to help self-insured businesses, municipalities and school districts save thousands of dollars on their workers’ compensation costs.

USA-TPA delivers an integrated plan management program that combines plan administrative expertise, technological innovation with hands-on medical case management, and proactive loss prevention. These services are proven to help self-insured employers minimize insurance costs and maximize employee productivity.

PayComp Plus is a web-based payroll and Human Resources Administration Tool that gives all trust members the opportunity to better manage their workers' compensation contributions.  With PayComp trust members pay their monthly contribution based on actual payrolls from that month. If business is slow and a member cuts back on payroll they pay less for that period. When business picks up and there is more payroll the contribution increases accordingly. PayComp helps members avoid underpayment and overpayment and reduces overall trust contribution payables for an improved financial position.

Med NY Case Management specializes in getting injured workers back to work fast. Highly skilled and experienced nurse case managers develop a plan of action that will help to ensure proper medical care and facilitate access to an extensive medical support network including medical specialists, diagnostic facilities, and board-certified surgeons who act as an extension of the Med NY team. The ultimate goal of Med NY is to help companies achieve prompt and successful medical outcomes at the least possible cost.

Xclaim Software was initially developed to support the information management needs of NYCM. Today, Xclaim has emerged as one of the most powerful software suites available to meet the information management needs of third-party insurance program administrators, insurance carriers, and self-insured companies.  Xclaim serves as the central database for all policy and claim information. It allows seamless collaboration with claimants, customers, agents, colleagues, attorneys and other key parties with a single, integrated system – providing unparalleled access to the critical information needed for successful insurance plan management.

Today, NYCM and its associated companies employ roughly 60 employees with its main office in Cicero, New York and branch offices located across New York State.
